East Indian food is quite popular in today’s society as well as East Indian cooking utensils. Food such as roti, fried potatoes, curry’s, chokas and sweets such as parasad, jalabee, barfi, kurmas, rasgulla and goolab jamoon are some of the very popular dishes and sweets in Trinidad’s society. Some of the kitchen utensils the Indians brought are still used in kitchens today such as belna, chauki, pukni, sapee, mortar, dhal gootni and. With this information, it goes to show that piece of the East Indians culture in terms of food still exists and lives on in Trinidad.
